Crude Oil Tycoon Tier List

There is no honest S-to-D machine ranking yet. Current public information does not provide a complete roster of machine levels, costs, production rates, power requirements, repair behavior, or dependencies.

Checked August 14, 2026Confidence: methodology only

This Crude Oil Tycoon tier list is a ranking methodology answer: current evidence supports ranking the active bottleneck first, with low confidence in any universal S-to-D machine order.

Why there are no tiers

Different constraints need different systems

Droppers, processors, batteries, refineries, storage, repairs, and selling belong to one connected oil line. Calling one family S tier without current costs and rates can push a player to increase extraction while oil is already waiting, or buy capacity while finished barrels are stuck at the sale step.

A useful ranking would need transparent criteria, comparable levels, a repeatable current-build test, and evidence that the same choice remains best across early progression, area gates, permit challenges, and rebirth preparation. Those inputs are not available now.

Use this instead

Rank the active bottleneck first

  1. 1. Repair visibly stopped equipment.
  2. 2. Check batteries or power at a stopped stage.
  3. 3. Create room when oil storage remains full.
  4. 4. Inspect processing when oil queues before a machine.
  5. 5. Inspect selling when completed barrels wait.
  6. 6. Inspect extraction when later stages repeatedly lack oil.
  7. 7. Follow the live permit, area, or rebirth requirement when production is not the gate.

What would make a real tier list possible

This route will remain a methodology answer until a current, reproducible dataset can compare named machine options at equivalent progression states. Any future ranked list must show the checked game build, ranking criteria, costs or opportunity costs, throughput evidence, power and repair assumptions, and situations where a lower-ranked choice is still correct.
